Blame Not My Lute
Robert Aubry Davis and Ronn McFarlane have given live performances this program of Elizabethan lute music and poetry many times over the past 20 years. And they have finally committed the program to CD, which includes a CD booklet (written by Robert Aubry Davis) that delves into the stories behind the music and verse. The poetry of William Shakespeare, Thomas Wyatt, Richard Barnfield and the bawdy Thomas d’Urfey intertwine with the music of John Dowland, William Byrd and the prolific Anonymous.
